MEMBERS of the Ryde Harriers running club showed just how creative they could be during the coronavirus crisis.

With the Isle of Wight club forced to suspend all competition and weekly training sessions during lockdown, it did not stop members putting on their running shoes and follow social distance regulations.

Last month, members were challenged to use their one exercise a day allowance outdoors to plan a run via Strava software which, when GPS data was uploaded onto it, it created a picture of an animal or object.

There were some very creative entries, with Trevor McAlister winning with his Save the NHS heart picture — his way of summing up the Harriers' gratitude and thanks to the NHS for protecting the Isle of Wight from the disease.

Nigel Eldridge came second with his horse's head route, he called Shergar.

Catherine Youngs came up with a dinosaur inspired route she called Coronasaurus, while Ken Beak created a route entitled Cow.
