ISLE OF Wight golfer Brandon Robinson Thompson put in a superb second round to make the cut in the Commercial Bank Qatar Masters — his first-ever European Tour event.
Brandon, 27, who grew up playing golf at Freshwater Bay Golf Club, shot a one over par 72 in his round at Education City Golf Club in Doha on Thursday, but recovered superbly to shoot a -3 second round to make the cut.
Brandon, a big Pompey fan, followed it up this morning (Saturday) with another 72 to leave him currently tied with five other players in 65th place on -1 going into the final round, starting tonight.
The leader, Jorge Campillo, leads the tournament on -14.
