TODAY marks the start of the Isle of Wight indoor cricket season, with teams in cup action.

Cowes Enterprise College’s Winder Centre will be hosting Sunday league and cup cricket this winter, starting with the Leslies Motors Indoor Cup, this evening.

The opening fixtures, the preliminary round, will be between Northwood II and EPP, at 6pm, followed by the holders, Ryde I, facing Shanklin and Godshill I, starting at 7pm, then Cowes against Island Bakeries, last season’s runners-up, at 8pm.

The winners will go into the quarter finals, the following week, with the semi-finals and final pencilled in for Sunday, October 27.

The Isle of Wight Leslies Motors Indoor League will get underway on Sunday, November 3.

The opening match in Division 1 will be between EPP and Brading.

The title holders, Ryde, play in the second match against Shanklin and Godshill I.
