COME next Friday, Isle of Wight darts sensation Keegan Brown will be on home turf aiming to check out 2018 on a winning high against the likes of world Number one Michael van Gerwen.

Keegan, who was knocked out of the high profile Ladbrokes Players Championship Finals in Minehead by van Gerwen last Saturday, will be looking for revenge at the 1Leisure Professional Darts Masters, which will take place at Newport’s Medina Theatre on Friday, December 7.

As well as van Gerwen, the five-star darts event will also feature World Championship semi-finalist Jamie Lewis, another Dutch ace, Vincent Van der Voort, and entertaining former pro star, Wayne Mardle.

Brown, the former world youth champion, lives in Newport and still works for the Isle of Wight NHS Trust at St Mary’s Hospital, Newport.

The event is being sponsored by Helping Hand Care Services.

Company director Vickie Pook said: “Myself and my partner, Ian, are massive darts fans and we attended the event last year. It was a fantastic night.

“We decided to get involved this year to give most of our clients, who are housebound or don’t get out much, a night to remember.”
