Cowes Sports 4, West Wight 1
YACHTSMEN striker John McKie was the hero who weighed in with a hat-trick to help his side ease to a comfortable victory in the final of this year’s Isle of Wight Senior (Gold) Cup final.
In front of a bumper crowd of 430 at Newport’s St George’s Park, Cowes went in front after six minutes — McKie driving it past keeper Joe McCormack into the corner.

Cowes scored their second on 13 minutes — Finley Phillips slotting in from six yards.
McKie made it three on the stroke of half-time, tapping in after the keeper felt he had been fouled by another Cowes player in a crunching challenge on the edge of the box.
West Wight were sunk by the Yachtsmen on 75 minutes when Jimmy Wykes crossed for McKie to tap in from a yard out for his hat-trick and 31st goal of the season.
Cowes Sports manager Steve Hunt delighted with the result.
