The Crossing Cafe is a newly opened cafe in Ryde serving delicious, authentic home cooked brunches and daily lunch specials, and although only being open since late November, it has certainly made its mark on Island foodies and has had an abundance of positive feedback from happy customers.

Alex West, acclaimed chef and proud business owner, has worked in the food industry for many years and his international career as head chef on superyachts has shaped his diverse and unique menu, with dishes inspired by Mediterranean (mostly Italian , French and Spanish), Central/Southern American and Lebanese influences, but his menu is constantly evolving and adapting; with Asian cuisine planned for future dishes.

His menu also caters for vegetarians, vegan and gluten-free diets - so there is something for everyone!

So far in Crossing’s opening the most popular dishes include the delicious French toast, beautifully  served with berry compote, fresh berries, Chantilly cream and maple syrup - or if you fancy something savoury, then Crossing offers a range of delights including Huevos Rancheros, a traditional Mexican dish with fried egg, black beans, corn tortilla, salsa, avocado and sour cream: or Shakshuka, a divine Tunisian recipe with poached eggs in a spicy tomato and pepper sauce: as well as many other well-loved brunch options in addition to a rotating lunch menu.

As well as Alex’s wide range of delicious dishes, Crossing is the only establishment in Ryde to offer the Island’s roasted Jasper’s coffee, as well as amazing hot chocolates served with whipped cream and homemade torched marshmallows.

Crossing Cafe has a welcoming, cosy ambiance (pets are welcome too!) - and with every dish you really get a real sense of authenticity and attention to detail.

Alex’s passion, enthusiasm and hard work has meant Crossing is a new and exciting addition to Union Street- so go and get yourself down there, you won’t regret it!
