Network Ryde is Ryde town's award winning youth service - providing support, advice and guidance to all young people and supplying a safe space at its youth centre in Ryde.
Recently, Network Ryde was awarded a game changing investment fund to renovate St Thomas’ Church which was bought by Ryde Town Council to allow the growth of Ryde’s youth provisions to continue in 2021.
The completed project will support a further 200 young people, also allowing for Network Ryde to expand their dedicated team of youth workers and provide opportunity to utilise confidential meeting space and community events.
Part of the Government’s national youth guarantee to transform and ‘level up’ opportunities for young people in England, Network Ryde is one of 43 youth services in England to benefit from the first wave of youth investment fund grants.
The facilities are expected to be ready by mid 2024.
Culture Secretary Lucy Frazer said: “I want every young person to have the opportunity to access the kinds of life-changing activities which expand their horizons and allow them to develop vital life skills.
“The National Youth Guarantee will provide these opportunities and support young people with access to regular club activities, adventures away from home and volunteering opportunities.
“We are supporting this with an investment to create or renovate spaces for youth clubs and activities to support opportunities for thousands of young people across the country who would otherwise miss out.”
The youth investment fund is designed to transform the health, well being, skills and opportunities of young people up and down the country.
Hopefully this will allow Network Ryde to continue their services to local communities and even expand on them, an opportunity to prioritise the youth and deliver the life changing services they need.
