It holds Zoom meetings every Monday, at 7pm, to discuss the issues being raised by residents here.
On Monday February 15, a panel of current councillors will be answering questions and sharing their experiences.
Pauline Evans, the Our Island candidate for Sandown South, said: “We all know the current system is failing, but we can’t change things without new people who are willing to stand to become councillors and others who are willing to provide support for the work that is necessary to get people elected.
“Our Monday meetings are a great forum for people to find out what is involved.
"One of the main problems, is the fact that the current system is shrouded in mystery for many and operates to protect the position of the national political parties and the patriarchy they seek to maintain.
"We need more young people and women to come forward to bring some sense into our local government.
"People need to come forward if they want their interests to be represented.
“Our Island wants to help and encourage people to understand the system so that they feel able to come forward."
