Farnborough 2 Barnet 1: Barnet fell away after dominating the first-half and paid dearly for their missed early opportunities when Rocky Baptiste's 88th-minute goal gave ten-man Farnborough a victory on Monday.

Farnborough's captain Gary Patterson was red-carded by referee Mr M Yerby after only seven minutes for striking Ben Strevens in the face with his elbow.

Strevens recovered and put the visitors ahead two minutes later..Mark Gower's dangerous cross was blocked by defende Tim O'Shead, but Strevens swooped to score.

Stuart Niven was unlucky to stretch the lead when his goalbound header was cleared off the line by Joff Vansittart.,

As Barnet continued to dominate, Midgley ended a burst by firing too high. He also had a header blocked on the goaline, by Michael Warner.

Farnborough had another let-off when Strevens tried a bicycle kick when a header would have been more effective.

Ten-man Farborough began the second half full of determination, and drew level after only two minutes. Baptiste met a right-wing cross from Vansittant with a powerful shot from six yards that Harrison did well to block, before the ball crossed the line.

A minute later, Harrison made a brilliant one-handed save fro, Barry Laker's header.

The Bees rallied briefly, and strevens was denied a second goal when his forceful shot was blocked by keeper Steve Farrelly.

Barnet had a let-off when Vansittart's header hit the bar. But Farnbroough were not to be denied, and and Baptiste struck again with the late winner as the retreating Bees' defence failed to get in an effective challenge.
