I was saddened to read the article about Barnet Hospital's breast unit underachieving (Surgeon says hospital's poor rating was a blip', October 11).
I personally owe my life to lead surgeon Rashid Qureshi because he dealt with my cancer very early before it had spread. I have received nothing but kindness, care and compassion from that clinic and the after care following my operations has been wonderful.
It seems sad that a conscientious and dedicated surgeon should be penalised because he takes a well-earned holiday.
