Put into bat at home to Avorians, Streatham's openers Chris Wells and captain Andy Murphy put on 110 before Murphy fell for 47.

Michael Rush made 13 and debutant Karl Jarrett made just 1 before wicket keeper Howard Chambers joined Wells. Wells was on 89 not out when Chambers was dismissed for a 36, and Murphy declared at 218 for 4 from 47 overs.

Avorians made a solid start, with 25 on the board. But the visitors were never really in the hunt, but despite Eric Latty's 3 for 31 they took the total to 150 for 6 from 42 overs and a point. Nigel Jones and Jef Harvey picked up the other two wickets as Streatham could not force a victory.

Streatham's second eleven had a almost identical contest at Avorians II.

Again batting first, they made 200 for 4 declared in 46 overs, Jim Dwyer making 82 not out, but Avorians defended to finish on 162 for 5. Streatham II took the winning draw points.

This Saturday, Streatham visit Limpsfield. Streatham II entertain Ashtead II at Burbage Road, Dulwich. Both matches start at 1pm.
