Ford United are already promoted but they are still trying to obtain top spot in the Ryman Division Two and certainly did the Blues no favours in this game.

Jeff Wood, who got both goals, increased his league tally to 41, way ahead of any other player in the Ryman League.

It could have been quite different had Chapman in the Ford goal not saved a magnificent volley from Jamie Derby inside the first two minutes.

Matthew Fox in the Blues goal was also busy later in the game and brought off a number of memorable saves.

The opening goal on the half hour was down to slack defending. A free kick from near the corner post swung away from the goal and Wood was left free to head in from seven yards.

With the wind in their favour in the second half you felt the Blues were in with a chance. But the sucker punch came after 71 minutes.

An attack on the left broke down and left the Blues defence stretched. A cross pulled back found that man Wood againunmarked and he blast the ball into the net.
