Blind Waddon pupil Carolyn Gooding received a great birthday present last week by achieving a B grade in computing, B in sociology and an E in biology.
The Crowley Crescent teenager only began celebrating her 18th birthday after discovering her grades at the Royal National Institute for the Blind (RNIB)'s New College.
She said: “I used to go to Selsdon High, where they had a visually impaired unit and decided to further my education at the college because it had more specialised knowledge. I didn't think it was possible for me to do A levels but studying at the college made things a lot easier.”
