NORTHWOOD House in Cowes has announced it will reopen The Lawn Bar on Friday (May 28).

Thought to be the largest licensed outdoor venue in Cowes, it will be open for the Bank Holiday weekend, having been closed since the end of 2020.

Social distancing and a number of hygiene measures have been put in place to ensure the safety of both patrons and staff.

A spokesperson for The Lawn Bar said: "We hope the rules may relax a little by June 21, but until then we can only offer table service for all drinks orders.

"The good news is we will have a smart phone app for customers to order and pay for drinks, although our staff can still take an order and any payment face to face as well.

"Remember to bring a face covering with you too, you will need to wear one to access the toilets."

Opening times for The Lawn Bar for Bank Holiday and beyond:

Friday: 4pm - 11pm.
Saturday: Noon - 11pm.
Sunday: Noon - 6pm.

As a Bank Holiday special, the bar will also be open on Monday May 31 from 11am to 5pm.

Updates and latest news is available via Facebook or the Lawn Bar website.

The Northwood House tea garden will also reopen for the summer this Whitsun holiday weekend from Saturday on St Mary’s Lawn.

The venue will offer homemade cakes, hot drinks, cream teas, ice creams and sandwiches, and will continue to open to the public on Sundays throughout the summer months.
