POPULAR Isle of Wight music festival, The Wight Proms, has launched a new, online concert.

While still hopeful its annual event, hosted at Northwood House in August, will go ahead, organisers conceded "it's too early to call at this stage".

In the interim, the festival is launching the fundraiser, Wight Proms — Stay at Home Gala.

The free to watch, online concert will thank, raise money and show appreciation for NHS workers on the Isle of Wight, risking their lives daily.

The gala will take place on Friday, May 15, at 7pm, with all money raised going to the IW NHS Trust Fund.

Organisers are launching three competitions to coincide with the event, comprising poetry, artwork and video.

To submit your entry, simply post your poem, artwork or video on Facebook or Twitter and tag Wight Proms (@WightProms) and #WightPromsStayAtHomeGala.

The winners from each competition will be chosen to become a part of the online concert.

Submissions from under 18s must state their age with their entry.
