An Isle of Wight man has been handed a fine for possessing drugs, a sword and a knuckleduster.

Shane Ely, 37, of Alvington Manor View in Newport, appeared at the IW Magistrates' Court on Tuesday, September 29.

He pleaded guilty to possession of cannabis and cocaine, producing two plants of cannabis and possession of a sword and knuckleduster in a private place.

Magistrates handed Ely a 12-month community order, ten rehabilitation days and a £319 fine.

The bench ordered for the destruction of the drugs, plants and weapons.
