A fresh spell of hot, dry weather is set to grip the Isle of Wight this coming week, as temperatures climb back towards the high 20s and low 30s.
Forecasts for Newport and much of the Island show daytime highs rising from the mid-20s this weekend to around 26-29C between Tuesday and Thursday.
Humidity is forecast to remain high, while UV levels are rated ‘high’ or ‘very high’, prompting renewed calls for Islanders to seek shade during the middle of the day, use sunscreen and stay hydrated.
Meteorologists say this latest spell could amount to a fourth heatwave of the summer for parts of England and Wales, coming on the back of several record‑breaking hot periods since May.

National forecaster Met Office guidance suggests temperatures in the South East are expected to top 30C again on several days, with the current hot, settled pattern returning after only a brief dip to more "fresher" conditions.
The hot, dry conditions follow a series of recent wildfires across the UK, including the major incident at Headon Warren, which firefighters believe could have been "man-made."
Parched vegetation and strong sunshine mean even small sparks can spread quickly.
The Met Office says this summer’s long‑lasting hot spell is "very, very unusual," with the UK recording an unprecedented run of days above 30C and only around 20 per cent of typical July rainfall so far.
