AN ISLE of Wight man arrested on suspicion of raping a pensioner has been released without charge.
At around 4.45pm on Sunday, April 5, police received a report that a 75-year-old woman had been raped at an address on Sun Hill in Cowes earlier that day.
A 66-year-old man from East Cowes was subsequently arrested on suspicion of rape and sexual assault, and was bailed until July 22 while police enquiries were ongoing.
He has since been released without charge and will face no further action in relation to this matter.
The victim continues to be supported by specialist officers.
