A yellow heat health alert has been issued by the Met Office and the UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA) on the Isle of Wight, starting today (Saturday).
The warning begins at 12pm and runs to 5pm on Wednesday, July 8.
The alert warns of minor impact across health and social care services and a greater risk to life for vulnerable people.

The Isle of Wight Council has issued the following advice for the duration of the warning:
- stay in the shade or wear a sunhat if outdoors
- keep homes cool by shading windows during the day and opening them at night
- stay hydrated with water; avoid alcohol and caffeine
- use sun cream
- be aware of signs of heat exhaustion or heatstroke
Temperatures are forecast by the Met Office to reach up to 27 degrees on Tuesday, July 7,
