Two men have been bailed after three people – one reportedly armed with a knife – tried to 'force their way' into an Isle of Wight home last month.
As previously reported by the County Press, Hampshire and IW Constabulary were called to York Avenue in East Cowes at around 11.20am on Saturday, June 6.
Police received a report that three men had attempted to force entry to an address in broad daylight, with one individual said to have been armed with a knife.
Officers confirmed no one was injured during the alleged incident.
Following enquiries, police arrested a 55-year-old man from East Cowes on suspicion of aggravated burglary and possession of an offensive weapon in a public place.
A 24-year-old man from Cowes was also arrested on suspicion of aggravated burglary and criminal damage to property.
A police investigation was launched to establish the full circumstances of the incident.
In an update today, Hampshire and IW Constabulary confirmed both men have been bailed.
The 55-year-old man has been bailed until September 7, while the 24-year-old has been bailed until September 16.
Police enquiries remain ongoing.
