The Isle of Wight Green Party has created a survey to support people to 'adapt to more frequent heatwave conditions' following the recent high temperatures.
The survey, which all Islanders can take part in, came about after a meeting of the political party where members collated ideas on how to prepare for more consistent heatwaves in the future.
Ideas raised at the meeting including provision for heatwaves in housing and buildings, health, farming and education.
The local party cited findings from the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), which says more frequent and intense heatwaves will result in ice melting, rising sea levels and impact on marine life.

The survey is available to fill out by clicking here and remains open until Sunday, July 19.
The results will then be published on the website.
An IW Green Party spokesperson said: "All the evidence points towards heatwaves and extreme weather events being more frequent.
"The Met Office predicts that by 2050 in the South of England, summer temperatures of 45 could be a serious possibility.
"On the Isle of Wight, we must escalate the necessary plans to meet the reality of these more frequent and intense hot weather in the immediate future."
