It isn't just people who have been feeling the heat over the last few days, so too have Isle of Wight animals!

With soaring temperatures, Islanders have had to find innovative ways to keep their pets cool.

The County Press took to Facebook to ask residents how they were achieving this — and they did not disappoint!

We had dozens of photos sent our way and we've uploaded a few here for you to enjoy.

Many dogs found themselves with paddling pools all to themselves, as the pictures show.

Clara even had a gazebo to shade her from the heat, while Bonnie's owner Teresa put some water in her bed under a tree.

For Sally-Anne's dog, a frozen tea towel was the perfect chew toy for a scorching hot summer's day.

Hogging the fan did the trick for Jenny's pooch and Sue took cooling her cat down very literally, in a cool bag!

Meanwhile, an ice pack proved the perfect seat for Trevor's cat!
