A HUGE Sunday crowd basked in blistering afternoon sunshine as Level 42 made their debut on the Isle of Wight Festival stage — and they made sure it was worth the wait for their legion of fans.
The atmosphere in front of the Main Stage was electric, with festival-goers packing the field and singing along, from start to finish.
Despite the intense heat, fans created a superb atmosphere as a reward for a polished, energetic set from one of the 1980s’ defining bands.

Level 42 leaned heavily into their golden 1980s catalogue — a move that proved a hit with the appreciative audience.
Fans were treated to a run of chart-dominated classics, such as Lessons in Love, Running in the Family and Something About You — each met with loud singalongs.
Frontman and Isle of Wight resident, Mark King, was in buoyant form throughout — even pausing to give Isle of Wight Radio presenter Paul Topping a special shout-out.
The band line-up included Mark's brother, Nathan King, on guitar, alongside original member Mike Lindup on vocals and keyboards.
They were backed by a tight and accomplished rhythm and brass section.
