ONE OF the world's most popular singers, Teddy Swims, warmed up for his Isle of Wight Festival performance with a stop at a nearby leisure centre — leaving its staff delighted.
The American singer, best known for chart hit "Lose Control," dropped into the 1Leisure Medina gym, Newport, ahead of his Main Stage set last night (Saturday).
Posting on social media, the Isle of Wight Council said the venue had received a surprise visit from the festival star before he went on to impress crowds at Seaclose Park.
"Our gym at 1Leisure Medina is Teddy Swims approved," a spokesperson said on Facebook.

"The American music superstar stopped off for a workout at our gym before he wowed the crowds on the Main Stage at the Isle of Wight Festival last night (Saturday)."
Staff at the gym said they were thrilled to welcome the singer, who also left with a 1Leisure water bottle following his session.
"We loved welcoming the star to our gym!
"Thanks for stopping in, Teddy, and what a performance last night!"
Swims, who has enjoyed huge success in recent years, delivered one of the stand-out performances of Saturday’s festival line-up, drawing a packed crowd for his soulful set.
