An amber heat health alert has been issued for during the Isle of Wight Festival 2026.
The UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA) and Met Office have issued the alert for between 12pm today (Thursday, June 18) and 8pm on Tuesday, June 23.
The warning covers the South East and is of medium impact and medium likelihood.
It indicates an impact on vulnerable people, including the elderly and young children.
The Isle of Wight Council has advised people to avoid the sun between 11am and 3pm, avoid alcohol, caffeine and hot drinks, drink plenty of fluids and limit strenuous activity in the hottest part of the day.

Additionally, guidance suggests walking in the shade, wearing a hat and applying sunscreen, avoiding alcohol, caffeine and hot drinks, taking cool showers or baths, closing sun-facing windows and curtains during the day and checking in on vulnerable people.
Tens of thousands of people will attend the Isle of Wight Festival in Seaclose Park this weekend.
According to the Met Office, the event is set for a dry weekend, with highs of 26 degrees this Sunday (June 21).
