A festival celebrating creativity, connection, and wellbeing has taken place in Sandown on the Isle of Wight.

This year’s Men in Sheds Festival, hosted by the Wight Aviation Museum, returned to Sandown Airport for its fourth edition and attracted a large crowd.

It was officially opened by Shanklin Mayor, councillor Sara Sheath and Dave Betteridge from Shanklin Men in Sheds.

Jonathan Lamb, chair person of the Wight Aviation Museum, said: "We are here to celebrate a truly remarkable movement: Men in Sheds.

"Across the Isle of Wight, over a dozen Sheds offer far more than just woodwork, engineering, and crafts.

"They provide a lifeline.

"They tackle isolation, foster unbreakable camaraderie, and promote mental wellbeing by giving local men a shared sense of purpose and good old-fashioned conversation.

"Today is our chance to support them and see their incredible projects firsthand."

More than 25 stalls showcased projects from sheds across the Isle of Wight.

Among those taking part were the Bembridge, Nettlestone and Seaview, Shanklin, West Wight, and WAM Men in Hangars sheds.

Sunday’s festivities were attended by High Sheriff Nigel Hartley, who toured the displays with Rob from Nashers (Nettlestone and Seaview Shed).

The day included live music and a mini beer festival.
