An Isle of Wight ferry company has received an award for its animal welfare efforts under a community initiative.
Wightlink was named Animal Star of the Year at the Southern Region Animal Star Awards in Portsmouth on Sunday, May 24.
The award recognised the company’s support for animal welfare, including transport for rehomed animals and backing for charities like the Isle of Wight Donkey Sanctuary and Wildheart Animal Sanctuary.

The Southern Region Animal Star Awards celebrate individuals and organisations improving the lives of animals in their communities.
So far this year, Wightlink has provided nearly 100 ferry crossings for animal charities through its Wightlink in the Community scheme.

Wightlink has pet-friendly travel options and supports a range of animal charities, such as Isle of Wight Cats Protection, RSPCA Isle of Wight, Ability Dogs 4 Young People, Amazon World, and Isle of Wight Monkey Haven.
