We are a week away from the Isle of Wight Festival 2026.
I know many Islanders will be excited and making plans already, and we also look forward to welcoming visitors who will travel to the Island to attend.
It is an incredibly popular festival, and the fact that tickets have sold out this year emphasises this.
The Isle of Wight Festival has also often proven to be a safe event, which has been achieved in part by the majority of attendees behaving responsibly, but also the robust and well-rehearsed safety plans put in place by police, partners, and the event organisers.
I want to reiterate that we will be robust when it comes to dealing with anyone who engages in criminal activity before, during, or after the event.
We want everyone attending to have a good time and enjoy this landmark festival.
Our officers will be out on foot in the areas surrounding Seaclose Park in Newport to engage with attendees, to support you, and to reassure you.
We all have a duty to act responsibly when enjoying a festival, and it’s important to remember that this extends to the morning after when travelling home – do so safely, and ensure you are fit enough to drive, otherwise seek alternative transport options.
There will be advice of this nature going out on our dedicated Isle of Wight Police Facebook page throughout the week of the festival.
