COLOURFUL and creative 'gallybaggers' lined the streets of Chillerton and Gatcombe as the Isle of Wight Scarecrow Festival burst into life on Saturday.
Rio Bellgore-Gullit, a member of the Isle of Wight County Press Camera Club, captured captured some brilliant creations in this year’s display.
Known locally as "gallybaggers", around 100 quirky scarecrow characters were set up across Chillerton, Gatcombe and Rookley.

The children of Medina House School in Chillerton also took part.
The festival was launched by Isle of Wight High Sheriff, Nigel Hartley, and the Men of Wight Morris Dancers at Aunt Sally’s Tearoom.
Visitors have been encouraged to vote for their favourites.
Organised by Chillerton and Gatcombe Community Association and resident, the festival runs until Sunday (May 31).
