The Isle of Wight Council has confirmed duck crossing signs will be installed by Ryde Boating Lake, nearly a year after the authority initially said they would install advisory warnings.
A spokesperson for the council told the County Press three road signs will be put in place along Canoe Lake Road and North Walk to alert drivers to the presence of ducks.
The signs are set to be installed on Monday, May 4, in time for 2026's hatching season when ducklings are most at risk on the roads, a spokesperson said.
The local authority said they were working to place signs last May following outcry from local resident Denice Wheeler, who took matters into her own hands and told speeding motorists to slow down.

However, when no signage materialised last summer, a council spokesperson said the authority hoped to find a resolution by the 2026 hatching season.
A council spokesperson said: "The signs are set to be installed on May 4 and will encourage those driving in the area to slow down and watch for ducks crossing while travelling passed.
"Officers have worked hard to find suitable locations and get the signs in place in time for this year’s hatching season, when ducklings are most at risk on the roads."
