An Isle of Wight school has partially closed today (Wednesday, April 29) due to a water supply outage affecting large parts of Cowes and Gurnard.

Cowes Enterprise College confirmed it had been forced to shut to students in Years 7 to 10 after losing water on site.
The sixth form is understood to remain open.
Southern Water’s incident map shows an interruption to supplies in the PO31 7PY postcode area, with the issue currently listed as “in progress.”
The utility company stated that it is aware of the issue and has dispatched a team to investigate and carry out repairs if necessary.
It warned that, where work is needed, resolution times can vary due to the need for “numerous checks and tests,” and apologised for any inconvenience caused.
In a message sent to parents and carers this morning, Cowes Enterprise College said it had “now been affected by a loss of water supply on site” and would need to close the main school.
The college asked families to confirm whether their child could leave independently, without being collected.
It also advised that council transport had confirmed bus passes would be accepted on all routes to help students return home.
Southern Water’s interactive map indicates the outage covers much of Cowes as well as parts of Gurnard.
Residents in the affected area may experience no water or significantly reduced pressure until the issue is resolved.

Southern Water said a team is on site repairing the burst.
A message on the company's website reads: "We'll aim to restore your fresh water supply as soon as possible.
"You may notice some discolouration or low pressure at first; this is completely normal when there’s been a disruption to the supply and is only temporary.
"Again, please accept our apologies for any inconvenience caused."
