Bembridge Parish Council has been awarded Gold status in the National Association of Local Councils’ Local Council Awards Scheme (LCAS).
Bembridge is now the only council on the Island to hold a Gold award in the LCAS.
The Gold award recognises excellence in governance, community engagement, and council improvement.

Iain Hamilton, chair of the National Association of Local Councils, said: "Receiving the Gold Award is an excellent achievement showing that your parish council achieves good practices in governance, community engagement and council improvement.
"Therefore, the council is to be congratulated immensely."
Martin Groom, chair of Bembridge Parish Council, said: "The application process to achieve this award has been long and very detailed, but we feel that the benefit this recognition gives in ensuring that Bembridge Parish Council provides the very best service to all its residents is well worth the effort.
