Pet owners on the Isle of Wight are being urged to look out for signs of hay fever.
Medina Veterinary Group in Wootton, and Pet Doctors Clinic Ryde are raising awareness that dogs can also suffer from pollen allergies, though their symptoms differ from those seen in humans.
The most common sign is itchy skin rather than sneezing or watery eyes.

Jayne Merryweather-Lewis, clinical director at Medina Veterinary Group, said: "Spring should be a fun season for our pets, not an itchy one.
"While dogs don’t show hay fever in the same way that we do, those little signs like nibbling paws or scratching can tell us a lot.
"The sooner we spot it, the sooner we can help them feel comfortable again."
Other symptoms include excessive scratching, chewing at paws, rubbing their face, and red or flaky skin.
Vets can confirm the cause and suggest treatment, whether it be topical creams, shampoos, or medication.
Owners are also advised to wipe their dog’s fur after walks and wash bedding regularly.
