Isle of Wight ferry customers should expect longer crossing times to Portsmouth today (Monday) due to a Wightlink shuttle service.
Wightlink is operating a temporary shuttle service on its FastCat route from 8am to 1pm.
Crossing times are expected to be approximately 45 minutes.
Sailings from Ryde Pier Head and Portsmouth Harbour will continue to operate from the South End berth, using ‘a partner vessel’, the ferry company said.
The change will allow engineers to carry out further investigations at the North End berth, which is currently closed for maintenance.
These works form part of a ‘long-term improvement project’, with completion currently scheduled for April 2026.
Anyone affected who finds the new times unsuitable will be able to travel instead on Wightlink’s Fishbourne-Portsmouth vehicle ferry, which is running to its normal timetable.
