A rowing club has ended its season on a high with a haul of medals from its final regatta.
Shanklin Sandown Rowing Club took home eight golds and six silvers from the Itchen Junior Regatta, where 28 crews competed across both competitor and novice categories.
Club captain Garry Walters said: "I was most impressed with the depth of talent displayed and with two thirds of the crews entered making finals and 11 athletes competing in single sculling events."
Five novice scullers represented the club, including Evie Selway, who secured a win by three lengths.
Digby Ridgwell and Connie Batley Smith claimed victories in the boys and girls J14 single sculls.
The girls’ J14 quad of Batley-Smith, Martha Eggleton, Amelia Chambers and Rosie Morris, and the boys’ J14 quad of Digby, Connie, Alex Collier and Dexter Robson, also took gold.
Both quads were coxed by Esme Walters.
The Itchen Junior Regatta marks the end of the club’s competitive season.
