Three creative pupils have been celebrated for designing a winning flag.
Jessica, Neo, and Tilly from Oakfield Primary School in Ryde were invited to County Hall in Newport after winning a flag design competition connected to the 2025 PEACH Games.
Each school taking part was assigned an island and tasked with creating a flag, with Oakfield pupils representing St Helena.
Their design was chosen as the overall winner by Isle of Wight Council chair Ian Dore, along with Kev Winchombe and Ben Gard from the Isle of Wight Island Games Association.
Cllr Dore said: "The flag is stunning in my eyes, full of colour, energy, and meaning.
"Their pride in their work was infectious, and it’s clear they put a lot of thought into the design, as it captures the spirit of the PEACH Games perfectly."
During their visit, the children presented the flag, toured the council chamber, learned about how the council operates, and tried on the chair’s ceremonial chain.
Hannah Doyle, deputy headteacher at Oakfield, said: "We are always proud to take part in the PEACH games alongside so many other Island schools.
"It was a privilege for us to visit Cllr Dore and hear all about his work."
