Burglar jailed after Isle of Wight pharmacy break-in

AN ISLE of Wight burglar who broke into a Sandown pharmacy and stole prescription medication has been jailed.

The case of Daniel Kilshaw, of High Street, Ventnor, was heard before Portsmouth magistrates on Monday, March 10.

The 44-year-old admitted four counts of burglary, in Sandown, between Friday, January 24 and Saturday, March 8.  

The court heard he entered Jhoots Pharmacy at Sandown Health Centre as a trespasser and stole prescription medication.

Kilshaw, who was on licence at the time of the offences, was jailed for eight weeks and ordered to pay £200 compensation.

Two other males charged in connection with an incident at the same pharmacy in Sandown have seen their cases adjourned. 

Jamie Matlock, of Hope Mead, Langbridge, and Paul Smart, of Culver Parade, Sandown, also went before Portsmouth magistrates.

Matlock, 43, and Smart, 38, are charged with receiving stolen goods belonging to Jhoots Pharmacy, in Sandown, on March 8.  

Their cases were adjourned to March 25 and May 23 respectively. 

Matlock was remanded in custody while Smart was granted conditional bail.
