A British chocolatier is set to visit the Isle of Wight.

Chantal Jane Coady will be visiting the Island on March 27 to share her journey from founding award-winning Rococo Chocolates to campaigning for slavery-free chocolate.

She will also speak about her receipt of an OBE from the late Queen’s Birthday Honours and her latest role creating the Chocolate Detectives.

The event will be held at Foresters Hall in Cowes.

Chantal is widely recognised as being the mother of the artisan chocolate industry in the UK, weaning people away from sugary confectionery to single estate dark chocolate.

Working with the Grenada Chocolate Company inspired her to adopt a radically different approach, and in 2019 she launched 'The Chocolate Detective', a business that highlights ethical and sustainable chocolate.

She is the only person to be awarded an OBE for Services to Chocolate Making, which she was granted in 2014.

A prize raffle will be held at the event and donations from chocolate sales in support of The Burnet Chef Project, a charity supporting positive mental health in hospitality.

Tickets can be purchased online at Eventbrite.co.uk.
