AN ISLE of Wight man has been sentenced for a racially aggravated public order offence.

The case of Jack White, of George Street, Ryde, was heard before Portsmouth magistrates on Monday, September 30.

The 26-year-old admitted a racially aggravated public order offence, in Portsmouth, on March 17.

The court heard he displayed some writing, sign or other visible representation which was threatening or abusive, and likely to cause harassment, alarm or distress.

White was fined £160 and ordered to pay £100 compensation.
