A house fire on the Isle of Wight during the early hours of this morning (Saturday, September 21) is understood to have been started deliberately.

Hampshire and IW Fire and Rescue Service (HIWFRS) were called to the scene of a kitchen fire on Bettesworth Road in the Haylands area of Ryde shortly before 1am.
Ryde and Newport crews arrived to find smoke and flames coming from the building.
Once the fire had been put out, firefighters used ventilation fans to help clear the smoke inside the property.
A HIWFRS spokesperson told the County Press: "Police were also in attendance as it is believed the fire was set deliberately."
Firefighters were given the stop message at around 2am.
Hampshire and IW Constabulary has been contacted for further comment.
