AN ISLE of Wight man under investigation following the death of an 84-year-old woman in Ryde has had his bail extended, police have confirmed.
The 59-year-old, from Lake, was arrested on suspicion of murder following reports of an unexplained death at an address on Wood Street in Ryde.
Police had been alerted by the Isle of Wight Ambulance Service at around 1.10pm on Saturday, June 15.
An investigation was subsequently launched into the circumstances surrounding the death.

The man, who lives on Newcomen Road, was initially bailed until September 15 while police enquiries were ongoing.
His bail has now been extended to December 15, Hampshire and Isle of Wight Constabulary has revealed.
