An Isle of Wight man has been charged with three counts of theft after allegedly stealing a trampoline, a vacuum cleaner and vapes - totalling almost £300 - in Newport.
As previously reported by the County Press, police officers were 'flagged down by a member of the public' at around 3pm yesterday afternoon (Wednesday, September 11).
It was reported that a man had stolen vapes from Ape Vapes on St James' Street.
Officers made enquiries into the report and arrested a 29-year-old man on Newport High Street on suspicion of theft.
Police have now confirmed that Timothy Saunders, 29, of Heathfield Road in Freshwater, has been charged with the following:
- Theft of £30 worth of vapes from Ape Vapes in Newport on September 11
- Theft of a vacuum cleaner, worth £139, from B&M in Newport on August 19
- Theft of a trampoline, worth £129, from ASDA in Newport on July 21
Mr Saunders has been bailed with conditions to appear at IW Magistrates' Court on September 27.
