A man in his 20s has been arrested following an alleged vape theft in an Isle of Wight town centre this afternoon (Wednesday, September 11).

Police officers were 'flagged down by a member of the public' reporting the theft of vapes from a shop at around 3pm.
The alleged theft occurred at Ape Vapes on St James' Street in Newport.
Officers made enquiries into the report and arrested a 29-year-old man on Newport High Street on suspicion of theft.
A Hampshire and IW Constabulary spokesperson said the man remains in custody at this time.
