AN 18-year-old Isle of Wight motorist is accused of failing to stop following a road traffic collision which saw a young child sustain serious injuries in Whitwell.

Owen Chambers, of Mountbatten Drive, Newport, appeared before Isle of Wight magistrates on Tuesday, August 10.

The 18-year-old is charged with a string of motoring offences, including failing to stop after a road traffic accident, in Whitwell, between February 23 and 25.

The Crown Prosecution Service made an application to adjourn the case.

The application was granted, and Mr Chambers saw his case adjourned to October 1.

He was granted unconditional bail.
