Our new series is putting the spotlight on Isle of Wight pubs.

Here we look at the Woodman's Arms, on Station Road, Wootton Bridge.

The Woodman's Arms is a family-run pub, which prides itself on good customer service, and provides home cooked food seven days a week.

Co-owners Harry and Ronnie Fletcher, who are from Sandown and are now Wootton locals, run the pub, with their mother Wendy Coy helping with accounts and promotion.

To get the pub through the pandemic, Harry shaved all of his hair off in the pub garden in the front of the locals, raising £4,000.

The kitchen, run by Ronnie, also uses some home grown vegetables in their recipes.

Looking for a family meal out? The Woodman's Arms has an outside sensory play area with a mud kitchen, sandpit, slide and swings, as well as a wood kitchen used for summer dining.

The pub was featured in a recent list of the best beer gardens on the Island.

The pub places itself at the heart of the community with a 24 hour accessible defibrillator station, one of only two defibrillators with round the clock public access in Wootton.

The business also offers charity quizzes and events for locals.

The pub hopes to continue to serve locals and the community offering charity quizzes, events and evenings for people they feel are in need around the local community.

Dogs are welcome at the pub, with treats and bowls of water provided.

Main menu meals are served in deli portion sizes at lunchtimes Monday to Saturday, between 12pm and 2.30pm.
