Emergency roadworks have closed part of a main Isle of Wight road between Newport and Yarmouth this afternoon (Wednesday, August 21).
UPDATE: Main Island route 'reopening soon' after emergency roadworks
Forest Road, outside Sydenham's Hire Centre and AMEY, has been closed by teams from the Scottish and Southern Electricity Network (SSEN).
The reason for the closure is to allow engineers to locate a mains fault, repair low voltage mains, restore existing supplies, backfill and reinstate.
The emergency closure is between the Gunville Road traffic lights and Whitehouse Road at Vittlefields Cross, a distance of 180 metres.
Island Roads said it will update motorists on its X (formally Twitter) account.
