TRAFFIC has come to a standstill as bargain hunters from around the Isle of Wight descend on a car boot sale this morning (Sunday, August 11).
Robin Hill Country Park has opened the first of a series of car boot sales and farmers markets this morning, in its car park, which started at 9am.
Traffic converging on Downend from Long Lane, Newport, Briddlesford Road, the Downs Road and Arreton is at a virtual standstill.
The traffic is described on social media as being "crazy".
The car boot sale and market is part of Robin Hill owner Lee Priddle's ambitious new plans for the popular site.
UPDATED 11.25am: Traffic flow is back to normal — with no small effort on achieving that by Peppi the clown and members of the Jay Miller Circus team, who went along to the car boot, but ended up helping to direct traffic!
