A residential street on the Isle of Wight will close for almost a month, starting today (Monday, July 29), to allow for utility and maintenance work.
Fitzroy Street will be closed this morning by Scottish and Southern Electricity Networks (SSEN).
The one-way section of Fitzroy Street, from the Station Avenue crossroads to Grafton Lane, just past the junction to Leed Street, will be inaccessible.
The road is scheduled to remain closed until Tuesday, August 27, at 4pm.
The closure is necessary to allow workers to overlay 72m of low-voltage cable along the street.
SSEN confirmed that diversions are in place and emergency access will be maintained when possible.
