A main road through Apse Heath on the Isle of Wight could be shut until Tuesday, June 4, leading to further traffic disruption in the South Wight over the weekend.
A second burst main in a matter of days led to the closure of Newport Road, near Sandown Airport, yesterday (Friday).
Southern Water closed the road between its junctions with Lake Industrial Way and Alverstone Road for repairs.
It remains shut this morning (Saturday).

A traffic notice states the road could be shut for a maximum period of five days or until the works are complete, whichever is sooner.
A lengthy diversion is in place while works are carried out.
As previously reported, Newport Road was also shut on Bank Holiday Monday.
It was said that tarmac was 'breaking up' in the road because of a major leak.
