A SEASIDE town on the Isle of Wight is in the top 20 of most expensive seaside places to live in the UK, according to new research.

According to property experts, GetAgent, data for more than 200 coastal locations has revealed Yarmouth is the 19th most expensive seaside hotspot in the UK. 

The data reveals Yarmouth's average house price is £595,107. 

But there are many good reasons to buy a house in Yarmouth. 

From castles and carnivals to pubs and wildlife, there are plenty of things to enjoy in the historic harbour town.

Unsurprisingly, most of the UK's top 20 coastal locations are in the West Country, particularly Cornwall.

But topping the list as the most expensive seaside location is Sandbanks in Poole, in Dorset, with average properties selling for a staggering £1.4 million, with Salcombe in Devon a close second.
